Standard #10: Collaboration
Artifact #1: Developing Logarithm Books
Essential Knowledge 10(n): Works with other school professionals to plan and jointly facilitate learning on how to meet diverse needs of learners.
Description: When planning my unit on logarithms, I collaborated with another teacher here who teaches a mainly project based class. He helped me by sharing work that he's had students complete and worked with me on developing the rubric for the project I was interested in trying with my Algebra 2 students.
Rationale: This correspondence fits this standard because he and I worked together on developing this project that would help my students best understand the task and be able to demonstrate their knowledge. We were working on this project both in face-to-face interactions in both my classroom and his, as well as through e-mail.

Artifact #2: Attending a Professional Development Conference
Performance 10(f): Engages in professional learning, contributes to the knowledge and skill of others, and works collaboratively to advance professional practice.
Description: We, the teachers from DIS, attended a teacher conference at the International School of Koje where we met with other teachers from international schools from all over South Korea. Koje hosted us along with 4 other international schools and brought in a keynote speaker from Great Britain named Tony Swainston. The main focus of the conference was teaching students how to have and maintain a growth mindset.
Rationale: This was an excellent experience and conference for me to go to so early on because it was something that we'd studied at school. So while I may not have actual classroom experience yet, I'd had more time studying these ideas than other teachers at the conference. Therefore, when we broke into groups that integrated teachers and administrators from all of the different schools that were in attendance I felt comfortable contributing what I knew about growth mindsets and creating a classroom culture around growth mindsets to the conversation.
